Bamdev Gautam Announcing New Party

Leader Bamdev Gautam is preparing to announce his new party today.

Gautam is understood to announce his new party from a press met to be organized at 3 pm today in Bhrikutimandap. Saturday, Gautam had organized a national union program as a campaign to reunite communist parties of Nepal. Nimkanta Pandey, coordinator of Publicity Department of campaign informed that Saturday’s program decided to form a new party.

The name of new party will be Nepal Communist Party – Unity National Campaign (NCP राष्ट्रिय एकता अभियान) according to source. Bamdev Gautam, has long advocated for a single powerful communist party in Nepal.

Previuosly, Gautam was vice president of Nepal Communist Party formed after unity between Maoist and CPN UML. The unity had made NCP largest party of Nepal, and was able to form a government with two third majority. The party however is now broken into three fragments already namely CPN UML, Maoist Centre and CPN (Unified Socialist).

Bamdev’s party will become the fourth party formed from the splited CPN.
