Mayor of Pokhara Metro, Dhanraj Acharya, said the time has come to enhance the quality of education in Pokhara for the production of qualified human resources.
At a programme organized to mark the diamond jubilee of the Bindhyabasini Secondary School here Monday, Mayor Acharya reminded us that there was a huge investment by the State in the education sector. So, there is no option but to make collective efforts for boosting the quality of education in the community schools, he stressed.
Reform in the country’s education sector is imperative also to control the exodus of qualified human resources, he said, adding that technical education is equally important for Nepalis to generate knowledge, skills and employment.
He expressed happiness over the best performance of Bindhyabasini Secondary School, which the Mayor believed, would earn prestige to Pokhara Valley and Gandaki Province. On the occasion, the Chairperson at Ward No 16 of PMC, Amrit Timilsina, said he was aware of the problems facing the school. He would extend support from his side to solve schools’ problems.
Similarly, the Chairperson of the School Management Committee, Chandra Thapa, claimed that the school was emerging as a centre of excellence due to cooperation from all sides. He urged the local levels for assistance to the school to cater technical education and manage the city shuttle.
