Rohingya Refugees Protest In Kathmandu

Rohingya refugees in Kathmandu have protested infront of UNHCR office on Tuesday.

Refugees have demanded to comply by the rights mentioned in the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948. They have asked to fulfill economic, social, cultural and childrens right as per the declaration. They also criticized UNHCR for not showing any interest in fulfilling rights of refugees who came from Myanmar, Srilanka, Afghanistan, Somaliya.

The refugees also asked to take quick action againt police official who hit women and children in Monday’s protest. Protesters urged to ensure accomodation facility and 100% support for medical needs. They also demanded government’s support for refugees’ children to go to private schools.

Rohingya community are protesting from Monday in Kathmandu to fulfill their demands.
