US Assistant Secretary Lu Arrives In Nepal

US Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs, Donald Lu has arrived in Nepal for a two-day trip.

US Embassy in Nepal has informed that Lu has arrived in Nepal as part of a regularly scheduled visit to the region. While in Nepal, Lu will meet with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Khadka and other business, civil society, and government personnels.

Embassy has also mentioned about handing over hand over the U.S. Secretary of State’s Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) to Purnaa, a U.S. manufacturing company in Nepal that promotes ethical manufacturing by empowering traditionally marginalized people and survivors of exploitation.

Earlier, Lu had visited Nepal in 17th November last year in the context of heated debate over acceptance of Millennium Challenge Corporation pact by Nepal. The pact was later approved by majority from Nepali Parliament.
